Patterns in our lives may seem intractable at the outset, but this is where our work begins.

The Way In

One’s journey often begins with the sense that things are not working as they are. The pain of a recent loss unmoors us. The drag of a long-carried burden can leave us stuck and suffering. We suspect our habits need tuning.

Your story, as you tell it, will be received with patience and examined with determination in a safe space we create together. A “head down, muscling through” mentality can shift to a “head up, deeply engaged,” way of life.

It takes time to make the unconscious conscious—nothing rushed or hurried, with no detail too small. Slowly, our path becomes clear. We create new rituals to integrate into your daily life, which give rise to more authentic ways of being, a version of you rooted in and emanating your life force.

My Ethos

I see therapy as a simultaneous project—two minds at work together. The task is like excavating a house. One mind knows the house, its rooms, and belongings. The second enters as a guide, carrying the torch of illumination, seeing the space anew.

What was of the past is still with us. The contents of this place hold the key to struggles of the present. While some people need to rebuild from the ground up, others require renovation of a specific chamber or passageway. In either case, we find what is working and fortify it. We discover what no longer serves and put in new supports.

My style is both engaging and receptive. I make use of questions to go deeper. I listen very intently, leave a lot of space, and allow for wandering. I find openness, curiosity, and a willingness to go slow essential to my process.
